In Washington DC, she studied architecture at Mount Vernon College. She eventually quit her course to focus on acting full time. Her first role was Down Twisted. Following her role as a key character in the horror film Scream and Scream 2, she started to gain fame. It had an impressive commercial success and earned around 11 times the budget originally set. Additionally, it was highly appreciated by critics. She reprised this role in each of the three movies that followed the original. She was the lead character in Friends the hit sitcom, her popularity soared. There were numerous nominations and awards for her performances. The show that was a huge success aired for 10 years. As of her most recent appearance she was a key part as a supporting character in Mothers and Daughters. She has won several accolades, such as her the TV Guide Award and Golden Derby Award.
